"Marriage proposals have changed drastically over the years.  What once was a simple, romantic gesture has now become extravagant.  It seems as though these days it is almost a competition of who can do the best proposal.  Recently, the proposals have gotten more personal.  They are tailored to the person or couple’s specific interests.  If they love video games, propose inside a game.  If they love baseball, propose on the JumboTron.  Take them back to the place they first met, had their first date, first kiss, etc.  This is not to say that the classic and simple proposals have been ruled out completely, as many couples still go that route.  I simply mean to point out that the standard of proposals has been set very high and is getting higher by the day, as demonstrated by this photograph."
